The Owner of a Pirate Site Patrzajto.pl Convicted

Patrzajto.pl has distributed many illegal movies. After it had published a Polish TV series Belfer, the owner of the site was sued and as a result sentenced to 8 months in prison.

CANAL+, to which the series belongs, tried to warn Patrzajto.pl that CANAL+ is the only distributor of Belfer and does not allow its publication it on third party web sites. The CANAL+ group sent a warning letter but pirate site made the series available anyway.

As a result, the platform submitted a notice to the police in January 2018. The judge issued a conviction after a 1.5-year investigation. The site Patrzajto.pl is currently unavailable. (ns)
