Showmax Leaves Polish Market

The Showmax web service appeared in Poland in February 2017. Since then, it managed to produce several original productions such as Czerwony punkt, Rojst, Ucho Prezesa and many others in cooperation with Polish artists such as Patryk Vega and Wojtek Smarzowski. However, it will no longer be available from February 2019.

In a statement issued by Showmax, we read:

On 31 January 2019, Showmax will withdraw from Poland and the service will no longer be available. This is a consequence of the strategic decision of the owner of Showmax – Naspers Group, about withdrawal from the activity in the video entertainment sector conducted as part of MultiChoiceGroup (MCG), to which Showmax was included.

We are very grateful to all partners, clients and the Showmax team who have supported the company since its establishment almost two years ago and we are sorry that this story is coming to an end. (ns)
