DISH Network platform has initiated action against IPTV services. One of the lawsuits filed by DISH Network operator was directed against Easybox, an IPTV service that offered subscribers over 1,000 channels, including over 24 channels available exclusively at DISH.

By filing a claim for copyright infringement, DISH demands compensation damages of $150,000 for each of the 66 registered and copyrighted works belonging to DISH – the total amount will reach a record sum of $ 9.9 million.

According to DISH, the platform operator made every effort to ensure that Easybox ceased operations before filing a lawsuit, including sending nearly 300 notifications of copyright infringement and they all were ignored.

In addition, DISH requests a permanent order to prevent streaming and distribution of DISH channels and programs. (ns.)
