Couple Sentenced for Streaming Service Infusum.tv

The owner of Evolution Trading has been jailed by the Newcastle Crown Court  for five years and three months, after he admitted conspiracy to fraud and illegal sales of services. His wife, Mary Gilfillan was convicted of fraud and received a suspended sentence for two years.

Haggerty not only sold access to illegal content, but also had many passports under different names, founded a “fictitious company” on the Caribbean Island, to hide the real purpose of his business. In collusion with his wife, provided the British immigration office with false documents to sponsor an Egyptian citizen who maintained an illegal streaming service for his company.

Kieron Sharp, the Federation’s general director of the Anti-Theft of Copyright (FACT), said the court’s verdict was “the next step in the right direction to deal with the problem of illegal streaming.” (ns.)
