The investigation began in October 2017, as a result of a complaint lodged by LaLiga. Two brothers were accused of committing a crime against intellectual property. On the website, the suspects offered telephony, internet and television, but didn’t mention about the transmission of football matches. Customers were interest in legal offer, but brothers offered a much cheaper option containing pay-TV channels. In this way, they managed to obtain 3000 subscribers, including owners of pubs and restaurants. It is estimated that the brothers received about 500,000 euro per year from this illegal activity.
