Almost 2M Dollar Fine for Illegal Streaming Premier League

Briton and Thai citizen were sentenced to pay 1,9$ million (15 mln THB) for Premier League copyright infringement in Thailand. In addition they have to paid 3 mln THB and they were sentenced to 3.5-year suspended prison for offenses related to conducting an illegal operation.

The accused admitted to be guilty to numerous crimes resulting from the illegal transmission of Premier League matches, including operating a large pirate television network in Asia. They were also responsible for distributing illegal devices customized for pirate streaming.

Premier League is running full copyright protection program and will prosecute providers for illegal content streaming. (ns.)
