Final Verdict on the Piracy Web Site from Olsztyn

The court set a fine for the owner of the largest warez forum in Poland in the amount of 300 daily rates (30 Polish Zloty each). He helped in violating copyrights to materials belonging to one of the entrepreneurs in Olsztyn.

One of the entrepreneurs in Olsztyn has been struggling with the owner of the warez forum for years. The entrepreneur accused Remigiusz N. of assisting in violation of copyright by not responding to requests to delete threads where links to copyrighted materials were posted. Instead of removing the infringements, the forum’s owner removed posts which informed about copyright infringements, deleted accounts and blocked IP addresses from which the calls came from. When the accused received a paper letter request to delete posts, he did not do this but copied them to other addresses. (ns)
