6 People Detained by Europol for IPTV Piracy

After a year investigation coordinated by Europol, arrested six suspects for the illegal distribution of pay-TV channels via internet television technology. 11th September, 2018 police carried out searches in various places in Ireland and Great Britain.

Four people were detained in Crumlin and Ashbourne (Ireland), and several actions took place in Scotland. A man and a woman from Bursledon were detained by the Trading Standards Service of Hampshire County Council and Hampshire Constabulary. While searching the houses, computer equipment and cash were taken over, and several bank accounts that served criminals were also blocked.

This international investigation was coordinated from the beginning by Europol, which supported operational meetings, criminal intelligence analysis and the deployment of two experts in Dublin. (ns.)
